Who we are

Wyoot is operated by VR BROS LLC, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. When this policy says “Wyoot”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, it means VR BROS LLC.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at support@wyoot.com.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to provide the service.

If you sign in

  • Email address — used to identify your account and send you sign-in links or story notifications.
  • Name and profile picture — provided by Google if you sign in with Google. Shown in your account page.
  • Reading progress and achievements— which stories you've read, which choices you've made, and which endings you've unlocked. Stored so your progress syncs across devices.
  • Newsletter preference — whether you want to receive emails when new stories are published. You can change this at any time from your account page.

If you read without signing in

We assign your browser a random anonymous ID (stored in your browser's local storage) and use it to save your reading progress on our servers. This ID contains no personal information. If you later sign in, your anonymous progress is migrated to your account and the anonymous ID is deleted.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how many people visit Wyoot and which pages are popular. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and does not track individuals — it only produces aggregated, anonymised counts.

How we use your data

  • To provide the service — saving and syncing your reading progress and achievements.
  • To send you sign-in links when you request them.
  • To notify you about new stories, if you have opted in.
  • To understand overall usage of the site (aggregated analytics only).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating Wyoot.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers required to run Wyoot:

  • Resend — used to send sign-in emails and story notifications. Your email address is transmitted to Resend solely for delivery.
  • Google— if you choose to sign in with Google, your sign-in is handled by Google OAuth. Google's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
  • MongoDB Atlas — our database provider, where your progress and account data is stored.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider, which also provides the cookieless analytics described above.

All providers are used solely to operate Wyoot and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies

We set one cookie: a session token that keeps you signed in after you authenticate. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and is deleted when you sign out or your session expires. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

Local storage

We store the following in your browser's local storage (not cookies):

  • Anonymous session ID — a random ID used to save your progress before you sign in.
  • Theme preference — light or dark mode.
  • Reader preferences — your chosen font size and reading width.

These are stored locally on your device only. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and — for EU/EEA residents — rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at support@wyoot.com. We will respond within 30 days.

To stop receiving story notification emails, you can unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of any email, or toggle the setting in your account page.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous session data (progress not linked to an account) is retained indefinitely unless you clear your browser's local storage, which removes the link to that data.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Wyoot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
